Chapel use Policies for Weddings

  1. Authority to use the sanctuary for weddings is based on the bride or groom's military status.Only brides or grooms who are military I.D. card holders and/or registered in DEERS are eligible to reserve the facilities.

  2. To reserve the facility, you must complete a Chapel Facility Request and submit it for approval. You do not actually have the facility reserved until the Chapel Facility Request has been approved by the Wing Chaplain.

  3. The person who reserves the chapel is responsible for leaving the facility clean and returning all equipment back to its original location. Any damage occurring to equipment or building must be reported immediately to the chapel staff.

  4. There is no alcohol or smoking allowed in the chapel buildings or on chapel grounds, except for wine used during communion.

  5. The facilities cannot be reserved 10 days before or 8 days after Christmas and Easter.

  6. Weddings are allowed a 2-hour time slot; rehearsals are allowed a 1-hour time slot.

  7. The chapels are not available for weddings on Sundays.

  8. Wedding receptions cannot be held in the chapel facilities.

  9. Decorations on the pews will not be taped or tacked.

  10. Rice, birdseed, or confetti will not be thrown in or around the chapel facility. Please inform your guests.

  11. Candles for the candelabra will be provided by the wedding party. Candles will be drip less, white candles.

  12. Photographers and video operators need to coordinate with the parties involved, including the officiating chaplain, for approval.

  13. Saber arches will be permitted only outside the chapel.

  14. If flower petals are to be dropped, an aisle runner must be used and all petals removed after the ceremony.

  15. The Wedding Monitors charge $60.00 for services; payment must be made in full at your rehearsal for them to be present at your wedding.

Civil Information for the State of Florida:

  1. The legal age for marriage without parental consent is 18 for both male and female. If between ages 16-18, parental consent is required. If under 16, a court order is necessary. A valid marriage license is necessary for your wedding. The central telephone number for license is (321) 264-5350.


  2. Proof of identification must be provided upon applying for a marriage license. This can be accomplished in Brevard County at the Clerk’s Office in the Court House at either 50 S. Neiman Avenue in Melbourne, or in Rockledge or Titusville.


  3. No blood tests are currently required in the state of Florida.


  4. Both prospective bride and groom must be present to apply for the license.


  5. The fee for the license is presently $88.50.


  6. The chapel address is required on the marriage license.

  7. A Florida Marriage License is good for only 2 months.
